My daddy turned 60 this year...CRAZY!!! We wanted to do something special for him so we planned a little surprise party for him. His birthday fell on a Saturday so it worked out great for all of us but we tried inviting all of his siblings and my mom's siblings but with State baseball and other things going on, no one was able to make it except for Lamar. My Simkins and grandpa Singleton and Elva were there though.
My dad had no idea that we had any of this planned so our surprise worked. We had someone call and say they could hear running water in the gym at the church so he would hurry down and we were waiting for him. I'm so sad that I didn't get very good pics of my dad as he came in because he was truly surprised. My camera was on video mode so all my pics came out blurry. :(

We all sent pictures to my mom a few weeks before the party and she put together a video for my dad. It was SO good. It was fun to see some of the older pictures that we hadn't seen before or ones we hadn't seen for a long time.

We also had everyone send in memories or favorite things about my dad and we had Brent and Luke read them to everyone. It was so fun to hear a few of everyone's memories and things that they loved about my dad. We laughed and cried and had a really good time.

Afterward, we set up the volleyball net and played a little volleyball game with a beach ball so the kids could all play.
We all ended up back at my parents house for dinner and more visiting. It was a fun day remembering memories and making new ones. Happy birthday daddy! We love you!
