Spring Break Day 3

The pinnacle of our trip finally arrived. :)  Our hotel was just a few minutes from Knott's Berry Farm so we were able to be there right as it opened.  We picked a great day to go to the park.  The weather was perfect and it wasn't crowded at all.  We basically walked onto every ride and we rode everything we wanted, as much as we wanted.

Charlie Brown and Snoopy were waiting for us just inside the gates so of course we had to get a pic with them.  Mia wasn't too happy to be by Snoopy but she thought Charlie was nice.  I guess she's just following the rest of the family and just doesn't like dogs. :)
Mia was trying to climb down as fast as she could
Good 'ol Charlie
Randy was worried that the lines to the big roller coasters would get long as the day went on so we headed straight for the Silver Bullet and much to my surprise, Halen and Alex were wanting to go ride it too.  Unfortunately, Alex was just a hair too short so he had to wait with mom and Mia.  He was a little sad but he was tall enough to ride everything else so he got over it.  I worried that the ride would be too intense for Halen and it might scare him off of anything else but he loved it and went on all the other big rides too.  I guess I got a couple thrill-seekers in the family. :)
Randy and Halen are dangling there somewhere
Camp Snoopy was where we headed next and worked our way around the park from there.  Mia was SO excited to get on a ride and was more than ready to hop on.  There were only 3 kids in line in front of us but of course they sat every other seat so our kids couldn't sit by each other.  I think Mia would have handled it better if she was sitting by Halen or Alex but as you can see from the progression of pics, she didn't like the ride much. :(

She was trying to be brave but she was ready to get off
Our pilot, Alex
This was one of Mia's favorite rides
Riding the train
Another family favorite ride
Mia got to operate this ride by herself...that's why the girl behind her caught up to her :)
Gotta love the swings!!!

I couldn't talk Mia into going on the log ride so we just watched
The park closed at 6:00 but since it wasn't crowded we still had plenty of time to do everything so it was enough time.  Since we had just snacked since breakfast, we were starving and ready for dinner so we stopped at Chick-Fil-A so mom and dad could relax for a little bit while the kids got out the rest of their energy before going back to the hotel.  We were pretty worn out by the time we got back so we pretty much just went to bed instead of going to the pool like we had the other two nights.  The kids were a little sad but we put on a movie and everyone was asleep pretty quick.

Wednesday morning we got up and had breakfast at the hotel before heading for home.  The drive went much quicker going back since we didn't have much traffic.  We stopped in Barstow for a quick bathroom break then stopped in Vegas for dinner at Olive Garden before finally getting back home.  It was a quick trip but it was good to get away and spend time as a family.  Randy had already taken Thursday off since we had originally planned to go to Disneyland so he stayed home with us and got some things done around the house instead.  Now to plan our next trip....
