Spring Break Day 2

We decided to go to the Aquarium of the Pacific on Monday.  We had breakfast at the hotel and took our time getting ready to go.  We weren't sure what to expect at the aquarium or how long we'd end up staying there so we took our stuff to go to the beach afterward since we'd be right there.  But there was more to see and do there than we thought and we ended up staying til almost 5:00 so we opted to not do the beach this trip.  There's just something about watching fish that entertains everyone we didn't realize how much time had gone by.

The aquarium had these fun books that the kids could take around with them and look for certain marine life then they could put a stamp in their book when they find it.  The boys had so much fun filling up their stamp books and Mia tried to keep up the best she could.
They thought the sea lions were pretty fun
Touching sharks and stingrays
There was a tropical bird enclosure where you could buy nectar to feed the birds with.  Alex and Randy were the only brave ones to try to feed them but the birds were sure pretty too look at.  I couldn't get over the bright orange beaks and vibrant colors.

Alex could have stayed to touch the sharks and stingrays all day

Since we weren't going to the beach, we decided to walk out to the harbor behind the aquarium and see a lighthouse and the boats out on the water.

The Queen Mary hotel and a Carnival cruise ship ready to set sail
We stopped to have dinner on the way back to the hotel then spent the rest of the evening swimming in the pool before heading off to bed.  The kids thought that the aquarium was a hit so we were happy about that.
