Mini Indy 2015

When Mini Indy rolls around we know that Spring is finally here.  The boys look forward to this event all year and they were excited to get excused from school for the day. :)  The boys went with Randy to go get things set up and Mia and I came a little later.  We got there just in time to watch the sky jumpers fly in with the American flag.  They always play Lee Greenwood's "I'm Proud to Be An American" then do the National Anthem.  It always makes me feel so proud to live in this great country.
NASCAR's Tony Stewart's car made a couple laps around the track
Then the race was on!  Each of us picked our favorite cars in each of the groups and cheered for them every time they came around.  We always sit down by the "S" curves so we can see the wipe outs on the wet track and Randy always works on pit row in that area so we can sit across from him.
Randy looks so official with his clipboard and orange vest
Lunch is always a highlight of the day.  All the teams do a contest where they have things like pulled pork, cafe rio type salads and mixed (virgin) drinks.  We get to go around and sample a little of everything and usually end up with more than we can eat but it's all too good to pass up.  The Michelin Man always makes an appearance every year so we had to get our annual pic with him...of course Mia wouldn't get close to him though. :)
Love the Marshmallow Man

Such a fun day with my kiddos!!!
Mini Indy is such a fun event and it raises a ton of $ for United Way so it's all fun for a good cause.  We're already looking forward to next years' race.
