Halen got the Hero of the Month Award for his class in September. He got it for showing respect, resilience and responsibility in the classroom. It was a total surprise to him and he didn't even know I was at the assembly until it was over. I tried getting his attention when he came in but he was talking to his friends so he didn't notice me. He was pretty surprised when his name got called to go up. I wish I would have got his reaction on camera.
