Christmas is always such a fun time and it feels like we try to fit too much in sometimes trying to absorb all the Christmas spirit that we can. This year the church put out a "Light the World" campaign to do service and activities daily so we focused on that as much as our busy schedules could and we didn't get a lot of pictures taken but we were able to spend a lot of great quality time together as a family...hopefully those memories will last even without pictures.
We did take a few pictures though so I wanted to post those. We had our ward Christmas party the week before Christmas where the kids got to meet with Santa, eat dinner and enjoy a short program that the primary kids sang in.

After the party, we took the opportunity to go to the St George temple to look at the lights and see the nativity out front. I love going here and listening to the account of Jesus' birth and feel the spirit at this special place with my family.
And of course you can't have Christmas without making Christmas cookies. :) Randy even likes to get involved in the process and the kids have fun cutting them out and decorating them. Mmmm.
The Simkins family got together on Christmas Eve to celebrate together and this was what we got to travel in to get to Enterprise...
But we made it and we had a good time spending a few hours together. We played some fun and silly games, the kids made a cute craft, we ate dinner and grandma & grandpa Simkins put together a fun scavenger hunt for the kids that ended in the young women room with pictures of Christ for each family.

We ended the activity with a little Christmas concert by Halen, Alex & Cassidy and of course singing grandma's favorite Christmas song, "Were You There".

The weather broke for us to be able to drive home without having to drive through a snow storm so that was nice and we got home in enough time that we could do some of our own family Christmas Eve traditions.
