Our flight didn't leave until late afternoon so we took advantage of that and slept in a little before packing up and checking out of our fun hotel. Randy couldn't let the opportunity go by to drive up to Sturgis and see the town while we were that close. I couldn't believe how small the town actually was. It didn't take too long to drive around and feel like we saw everything...we even saw some missionaries. Ü Of course Randy had to take a pic at the Harley-Davidson shop and we saw there was a motorcycle museum but Randy went in to check it out and he didn't think it would be anything the kids would really like so we didn't go in.

After Sturgis, we drove the half hour back to Rapid City to see a few more sites there. On the way, Aunt Misty called and said she had extra tickets to Hogle Zoo's Boo Lights that they were going to that night and wondered if we'd want to go. Because our flight was so late in the day, there wasn't another flight to St George that night so Randy's mom was already coming to pick us up at the airport so we could stay at the cabin that night then we'd fly home the next day. The kids thought the zoo sounded fun so we made arrangements to go.
In the meantime, we went to an air and space museum at the Ellsworth Air Force Base and spent a little more than an hour looking around there. They had a lot of fun things to see and do inside and some awesome planes outside. Some were absolutely huge and hard to believe that they can even get them off the ground.

After we left the airplane museum, the kids wanted to go check out a dinosaur park we had seen on the map. It wasn't much of a park. It was basically a piece of land on a hill where they had 5 or 6 different dinosaurs made out of concrete. They seemed pretty true to size so obviously the kids couldn't even really climb on them much but they tried. Ü At least it killed a little time and let the kids get out a little energy before stopping for a quick lunch on the way to the airport.
The flight to SLC was good and didn't seem too long. We met up with grandma Ogden at the airport and headed to Hogle Zoo. It was WAY crowded and we lucked out finding a parking spot but Misty already had our tickets waiting for us so we were able to go right in. I'd never been to the zoo at night and you could hardly see any of the animals in the dark but the lights around the zoo were pretty and we tried to see some animals.

It ended up being a long day with our feet being sore and we were all ready for bed after the hour drive from the zoo to the cabin but it was fun and we made some good memories with our cousins. The next day, grandpa Ogden took us back to the airport so we could finish our trip home. It sure was good to get home and sleep in our own beds but most importantly, I'm thankful for the time we got to spend as a family and make some fun memories together. I sure love this family of mine!
