Ogden Christmas Party

We got together with the Ogden side of the family (minus grandma and grandpa) over the weekend after Christmas up in Lehi.  We decided to drive instead of fly this time and left just after noon in hopes of making it to the BYU/Gonzaga basketball game at 4:00.  We met up with Rhett and Brayden in the parking lot right about 4 and luckily Rhett had his press pass because the game was sold out so that was the only way we could get us all in.  It was a really good game and the crowd was amazing and Mia loved watching Cosmo Cougar but BYU ended up losing by 7 at the end. :(

After the game, we followed Rhett because he was having some car trouble and it's a good thing we did.  We didn't even make it to the Provo Temple before his car died and had to pull over.  We took him to an auto store to get a part then went back to see if he and Randy could fix it.  The kids and I stayed in the warm car and watched a movie and had a perfect view of the temple just up the road while Rhett and Randy worked on the car.  I should have taken a pic because it was quite a site to see Randy out there in the snow and cold in shorts and a t-shirt.  They said they should have had the car fixed in about 20 or 30 minutes but it was almost an hour and half because Rhett dropped a bolt down into the engine and it took them a long time to fish it out.  But eventually they got it and we finally made it over to their house.

Sunday morning we got up and went to church then went back to Rhett's for the party.  Ryan and his family got there about 2:00 and the kids had a blast playing and catching up with their cousins.  It's too bad Florida is so far away. :(  Misty and her family and aunt LeIla got there about 5:00.  We had dinner all together then did the cousin present exchange.

The cousins all had a sleepover in the playroom which they always love and the adults stayed up late visiting and catching up.  We don;t get to get together much so it was fun.

On Monday, we got up and took our time packing up and loading the car.  We all decided to go over to Trafalga and let the kids all play for a little while longer before we all had to part ways again.  The kids had fun riding rides, climbing the rock wall and playing arcade games.  The also played mini golf and played laser tag twice so they were able to get some energy out before having to sit in the car for 4 hours.

Unfortunately it came time to say goodbye and it was pretty hard for the boys to leave.  In fact, Halen cried a little bit when we got home that night and wished that is cousins didn't have to live in Florida anymore.  He's been begging us to go out and visit them again so I guess we'll have to plan a trip to Orlando soon...dang it! Ü  But we had a lot of fun seeing everyone again and Rhett and Jolene were great hosts as always.  We can't wait to get together again.
