Simkins Family Reunion

We had our Simkins Reunion at the end of May this year since Whittney is due the end of August and Bobbi is due the middle of October.  Since they didn't feel like going too far, we just stayed around here.  We started on Thursday night by going to dinner to celebrate Josie's March Madness winning.  We were supposed to go to the lake on Friday but Uncle Lee got called to work so we didn't have anyone to drive the boat.  Instead, the boys went golfing in the morning then the girls went to get pedicures when they got back.  Then we met at the Washington City pool to play for the afternoon.

I didn't get a pic of Alex and daddy going down the big slide since it was on the other side of the pool, but they went down a few times and loved it.  We still have some convincing to do with Halen to get him to go down but eventually he will.

Once we were done at the pool, everyone went and showered and got ready to come to our house for Mia's birthday party.  We had pizza and cake and ice cream while we watched our cute baby girl eat cake and open presents.  Everyone else went up to Enterprise after the party but we went up the next morning.

We had fun just hanging out, playing horseshoes & ladder ball and eating yummy food.  Luke & Brent cooked a yummy breakfast outside on the grill, then they guys started their horseshoe tournament while grandma & grandpa took the kids on a 4-wheeler ride.

The kids even had their own horseshoe game
I only got a pic of Randy (& partially Ben) in the horseshoe pit :(
This is how the kids spent most of their time

The weather turned out great.  We were nervous that it would be windy but it was really nice.  For dinner, we had our traditional dutch oven chicken stew which is always really good.  We stayed late that night visiting before going home.   I think it turned out to be a fun reunion.  Even though we all live within an hour of each other, it's hard to get us all together at the same time.
