Halen's 10th Birthday

Halen couldn't decide what he wanted to do for his 10th birthday this year.  Like I said, he doesn't have many close friends, so he couldn't even come up with a friend or two to go do something with.  Instead, he opted to go on a family trip somewhere.  We did have a family party for those who could make it the day after his birthday.  We chose the day after because my cousin, Shanon, came home from her mission that night so grandma and grandpa Simkins were coming down any way and this saved them a trip. :)  Halen was also indecisive about what he wanted his cake to look like.  He knew he wanted a football but that was it.  About an hour before the party, he finally decided he wanted to do a BYU cake with the years "1984" and "2016" in hopes that would be the years they won the national championship in football. :)

Opening presents
Lots of cousins having cake and ice cream
Happy birthday Halen!
Where has the time gone?  I really can't believe I have a 10 year old!  Halen really does have a sweet side although he doesn't like to show it much.  He loves his little sister and is very protective of her.  He's getting more and more responsible and is excelling in school.  He makes life interesting and definitely keeps us on our toes.  Sometimes he's too smart for his own good. :)  Love you bud!
