Ogden Family Reunion - Days 1 & 2

After church on Sunday, Misty's family joined us and Ryan's family at the cabin for dinner.  Rhett's family had a vacation planned before the reunion was planned so they weren't able to come until Tuesday. :(  Then grandma Ogden talked to us about the theme this year which was "No Empty Chairs".  Grandma and grandpa just got back from Heritage Tours where they spent 3 weeks touring national and church historical sites and that was the theme they used.  It seemed fitting for our reunion too.  She started by playing musical chairs and showing the kids how it feels when others from our family gets "out" and leaves the game.  We don't want that to happen in heaven either.  It would be really sad if someone from our family didn't make it to heaven with us.

After we played the game and talked about it for a while, we learned a song called "No Empty Chairs" that is really pretty then all the grandkids put on a musical talent show for us.  Both of the boys played a couple songs on the piano.  They're both getting pretty good at it.

The rest of the night was spent visiting with everyone and letting the kids play together.  Monday was the 4th of July and we all went over to Oakley to watch the parade there.  Aspen is in both the Francis and Peoa rodeo queen royalties and was riding her horse in the parade.  Misty had told us that this was a pretty big parade with a lot of candy and there were a TON of people there so we were expecting it to be a good one but we were pretty disappointed.  It lasted about 45 minutes but there were HUGE gaps between entries and the kids only got a couple pieces of candy a piece.  Oh well, we got to see Aspen so it's all good. :)

After the parade, we went over to Misty's house to hang out for the day.  We had a BBQ and visited and the kids played a LOT.  David and Misty have a little bit of everything to do at their house so the kids stayed busy playing basketball, tether ball, football in the indoor horse arena, gathering eggs and feeding the chickens, jumping on the tramp, playing tag, and the boys made up their own American Ninja Warrior courses in the backyard.

Ryan and Rochele had left earlier in the afternoon to go shopping in Park City but we stayed til about 6:00 before heading back to the cabin for the evening.  We were going to go to the Oakley rodeo to watch Aspen ride in the grand entry but Misty could only get 6 tickets before it was sold out so Ryan took his family since it was the only rodeo they would get to go to this year (apparently there aren't many rodeos in Florida).  So we just hung out at the cabin for the evening and watched the fireworks in Midway from the deck.  Other people were doing fireworks across the valley and with the view from the cabin, we could see quite of few of them...it was quite the show.  Then it was off to bed to try to rest up before going to Lagoon the next day.
