We carved our pumpkins for FHE the Monday before Halloween and the kids had a hard time waiting that long this year. They wanted to do it as soon as October started. :) Alex and Mia picked a template on the computer that we printed out for their pumpkins and Halen designed his own.
I hate carving pumpkins myself. They're so messy and I hate sticking my hand down inside to clean out the guts. So I'm glad my hubby doesn't mind getting his hands dirty and digging in deep with the kids. Halen's a lot like me and doesn't like to get his hands dirty but he got brave this year and actually cleaned out his own pumpkin. He decided it wasn't too bad.

Mia wasn't too enthused with the whole process from the beginning so she watched TV most of the time and didn't even care to come see the pumpkin that mommy & daddy did for her. And by the time we got all three finished and ready for a picture, Mia was ready for bed and certainly didn't want her picture taken...hence the crying. :(

I thought they turned out pretty good for none of us being too creative or wanting to spend too much time on them. :) The kids are always sad to watch them start shrivel up as the week goes on and Mia still asks where her kitty pumpkin is...she liked it once it was set up outside. :)
