Labor Day Weekend

Randy likes to go up to his parents cabin over his birthday weekend but since my girls trip was that weekend, he opted to go up to the cabin the next weekend which was over Labor Day so it worked out great since he had Monday off anyway.  We decided to drive this time instead of fly since it's sometimes hard to get on the flights over holiday weekends.  We left after work on Friday and got up there in time to let the kids play for a little bit before putting them to bed.  It had been a rainy few days so it was nice and cool up there...it was great!

Saturday was a little rainy but we braved it and went into town to watch the Swiss Day's parade.  We weren't expecting too much so we didn't come prepared and mom and grandma left with their purses full of candy. Ü They did a good job with the parade.  We stayed for about 45 minutes then it started raining so we left to go find cover but the parade kept going.  Once the rain let up, we walked through all the booths at the park.  It was pretty crowded and the kids weren't excited to "shop" so grandma took them to go watch the entertainment so Randy & I could get through a little faster.  I bought a couple things but it seems like they have the same things every year and I've bought about everything I want (or can afford anyway Ü).  We got done about the same time as grandpa finished his shift in the pie and ice cream booth so we met up with him and went back to the cabin to let the kids play and watch the BYU football game (they won by the way Ü).

Sunday we got up and went to the early church since we knew the rest of the day would be packed with visitors.  The 9:00 was full but not standing room only like the 11:00 and 1:00.  After changed, we went for a drive to look at all the beautiful leaves that were changing and we took the kids to play at a park by the golf course.
Not the best pic of the kids but the backdrop was beautiful
I haven't changed the pictures of the kids on my wall for over a year so I decided this would be a good time to try to take some.  We've taking some before but the kids don't cooperate well and usually have some funny faces.  I think we got some decent poses of them this time.

We had to make him laugh to get a decent smile out of him

The boys love the big swings
Mia still loves the little swings
And swinging with grandma
Monday morning the kids talked dad and grandpa into taking them on the 4 wheeler and razor for a few more rides.  That's one of their favorite things to do at the cabin.  They only ran out of gas once. Ü
Mia and daddy
They all fit in the razor...kinda Ü

Mia and grandpa...oh, and Alex on the back
Unfortunately all good things have to end and we eventually had to go home.  It was such a nice, relaxing weekend and we really enjoyed the cool weather.  It makes it hard to come back to the heat but hopefully that won't last much longer either.  Bring on FALL!!!
