So we had planned to go to Vermont over Spring Break to go visit grandma and grandpa Ogden and thought we'd go out the first part of the week. But I got asked to work a few Dixie State baseball games over that weekend and I couldn't pass up making a little extra cash so we decided to go to Vermont at the end of the week. We thought it would actually work out better because rental cars were cheaper and flights looked a little better. Well, of course our luck proved to work against us again and winter storm, Vulcan, came through the northeast the day we were supposed to leave and dumped 18+ inches of snow. We had been watching the storm for a couple days and realized it wasn't a good idea to try to go so we changed our plans at the last minute and decided not to go.
We still wanted to do something but since it was so late in the week we had a hard time finding somewhere with open seats so we decided to just drive down to Vegas for a night. The last time we went we didn't get to see the volcano at the Mirage and the boys kept asking when we could go back to see it. So we picked Randy up from work on Thursday and headed out. We stopped to have dinner at CiCi's pizza then went to get a spot in front of the Mirage for the show.

The music was so loud that the boys plugged their ears the whole time and Mia was scared of the fire so Randy held her the whole time so we didn't many pics of the volcano but now the kids can say they've seen it. After the Mirage, we walked down the Strip a little further then caught the tram back to Treasure Island where parked. It was getting late so we just went and checked into our hotel and went to bed.

Friday morning, we went over to the Palace Station for breakfast/lunch. Someone Randy works with told him about the Las Vegas Mormon Fort and we'd never heard of it so we went to check it out. It just basically tells about the mormons who settled Las Vegas and what happened to the fort through the years. It was pretty interesting and the kids learned a little bit about the early pioneers. I guess it was worth the $1 admission.
The boys wanted to go to the Bellagio to see the water show and see what the display was inside so we headed there next. They always do a fantastic job on the floral display inside. Right now they have a spring theme with a greenhouse in the middle with real butterflies inside and huge raindrops hanging from the ceiling. It's amazing that they can make so many things out of flowers. The ladybugs were my favorite.

| Believe it or not, this was the best pic of the kids...I don't know what Alex is doing Ü |
The water show was a hit for the boys...not so much for Mia. She cried the entire time because of the popping noise the water made. She HATES popping sounds of any kind so she wasn't happy (maybe because it was nap time) but the boys liked it enough that we stayed for two shows.

We stopped at the outlet mall on the way out of town to get Randy some new shoes at Adidas then headed home. It was a quick trip and definitely not Vermont, but at least we got away for a little bit. We'll try to go to Vermont in a few weeks.

Sounds like a fun trip. We are going to have to check out the Mormon place in Vegas!
