Halloween 2012

We usually carve our pumpkins on the Monday before Halloween but because Randy's grandma's funeral was the Monday before, we decided to carve them on Friday before we went up north.  The kids created their own faces and drew them on their pumpkins.  I thought they turned out pretty good.  Randy is really good at helping the boys clean out the inside of their pumpkins since mom doesn't like to do it so much. Ü  This year Halen decided he could clean out his own and actually did pretty well.

Halloween day was a little hectic but the kids had fun so that's all that matters.  It started with Halen getting ready for school in his costume...he was Waluigi from Mario Brothers.  Alex, Mia & I went over to the school to watch the costume parade.  Since Halen's in the afternoon Kindergarten, they didn't get to go through the whole school with everyone else so they just paraded around the Kindergarten play ground a couple times then went back in their classrooms.  It lasted all of 3 minutes but Halen was excited that I was there.

After the parade, we went home to get Alex (Luigi) & Mia (black cat) ready in their costumes then went to pick Halen up from school.  From there we headed to SkyWest for their annual employee trick-or-treat activity.  You can see their buckets in the picture below and we leave SkyWest with both of them completely full...and that's only going through half of the building.

Next, we went over to grandma & grandpa Ogden's to let them see how cute the kids were.  We visited there for a little while before heading home to meet grandma & grandpa Simkins & the rest of the trick-or-treating crew.

Once everyone got to our house, we walked around the block letting the kids trick-or-treat our neighborhood.  Marsha even made it half-way around the block before needing to go back.

After the kids got their baskets filled again, we loaded up to go to Scott & Josie's.  She had made treats for everyone & we visited there for a while.

We definitely have enough candy to last a little while. Ü  The kids had been looking forward to Halloween for a long time and they had a ton of fun.  It was fun to be with cousins too.
