Mini Indy 2013

The Mini Indy is an activity that the boys always look forward to.  It's a SkyWest sponsored race that helps support the local Untied Way chapter.  They raise around $80,000/year which is great and it's always a lot of fun.  There are various activities through the week ending with the race on Friday.  Randy usually gets invited to go play in the golf tournament that they hold and he was invited again this year but it was held the same day as my grandma's funeral so he had to give up his spot. :(

Halen got to miss school to go watch the race up on the old airport hill.  He and Alex went with Randy first thing in the morning to watch the practice races then Mia and I met up with them about 10 am.  Grandma and grandpa Ogden came about noon to sample some of the yummy food that everyone makes for lunch and watch some of the races.

You never know what kind of weather you're going to get at Mini Indy.  It's usually extremely cold or really hot.  This year wasn't too cold or hot but it was windy.  Of course it was most windy during lunch so it was hard to enjoy what we ate.  Mia went home with grandma and grandpa after lunch so she could get out of the wind and have a nap.  The boys and I stayed the rest of the afternoon.
