This last summer was a little too crazy for me with a new baby to try to fit swimming lessons in for the boys too so we're doing them in October. I guess living in St George, that doesn't seem too crazy. They are the only 2 in the class so it's nice to have a little extra time to work with them.
We've tried teaching Halen ourselves but he's such a careful, cautious kid that he fought us anytime we tried to get him to put his face in the water. I knew it would take someone else to show him it was ok. At first he was a little nervous to get his face wet or jump into the water but he made huge improvements in just a couple lessons. His favorite thing to do now are "bobs" where he puts his face in the water and tries to glide forward.
Alex, on the other hand, has no fear whatsoever, he just needed to be shown how to swim properly. He has so much fun splashing and playing and has no trouble jumping in the deep end. He learned how to float on his back real quick and is learning how to glide too.
