Busy July

July has been an absolutely crazy month for our family. We've spent the entire month painting our new home and getting it ready to move into and still trying to fit some fun time in at the same time. The house is just about ready. The carpet will be done by Wednesday this week then we'll probably start moving next week. It's been a really long process but I'm finally starting to see the final results and we're getting excited. I'm so not looking forward to packing up our home since there have been a lot of things we haven't gone through since we got married 6 years ago and we've accumulated A LOT of other things in the process. I guess it will be a good chance to throw some things away but I'm a sentimental person who has a hard time doing that because of memories or because there is that slim chance that I might need it again sometime. I guess we'll see what happens.

As for the fun things we got in this month, we took the kids up to the airport to an airshow to see some helicopters and homemade and old planes. Halen thought it was way fun and always wants to go back up and see it again.

The second weekend of July, we took a day off from the house to go up to Cedar Mountain for a family reunion. It was nice to get out and enjoy some cooler weather, eat good food and visit. We took a 4-wheeler ride in the afternoon while the grandparents watched the kids. We were extremely dirty when we got back but it was nice not to have to worry about the kids. Well, we didn't worry about them while we were gone but found out when we got back that Halen had a scary incident. He was sitting in a bay window on the second floor of the cabin we were staying in and leaned on the screen of the open window and pushed the screen out. Somehow, my dad was sitting close enough and was able to react fast enough to grab his legs before he went out. They said Halen didn't seem fazed by it and wasn't scared but the rest of them were a little panicked. He didn't sit in the window again the rest of the time we were there.

We spent the 24th of July in Enterprise watching the parade, having a BBQ at my grandma's to celebrate my grandpa's birthday (I can't believe he's been gone a year already), running the races and going to the rodeo. Neither of the boys did well at the races. Alex really hasn't been on grass much so when I sat him down to crawl to dad, he wanted to just play with the grass instead. He really enjoyed chewing on the Laughy Taffy they gave him though. As for Halen, he was all excited to run but when they said "GO" he got a little intimidated by the other kids and froze. He's so shy around people he doesn't know. But we had a good time anyway and it was nice to have a little break from the house work.

Sounds like you guys have been busy just like us! Too bad we missed ya at the races on the 24th. We were there, but left right after they finished. Can't wait to see some of your after shots of the new house.

I seen your little one not finish the race. I just had to laugh because we have been there before! I am sad that I never caught up with you there. I am excited to see your new house so you will have to give me a call when you get moved in. If you need any help let us know!
