Halloween 2010

The boys had lots of fun for Halloween this year. Halen definitely has the concept down and Alex figured it out by the time we were done. And by the time we were through we had candy galore. Since Halloween was on Sunday this year Randy's work did their trick-or-treat on Friday afternoon. We only spent an hour there going around from desk to desk but both of the boys' baskets were completely full. The SkyWest trick-or-treat is for sure the highlight of the holiday for the boys and it gives Randy a chance to show them off to his co-workers.

Daddy with his boys at his desk
After we left SkyWest we headed to our ward party where we had a yummy chili cook off then had a trunk-or-treat in the parking lot. As we were getting the kids ready to go out, Halen asked what we were doing and I told him we were going to go trick-or-treating outside. He looked at me with an astonished look and said, "You mean we have to trick-or-treat outside?" He just couldn't believe we had to go outside to get candy...funny kid. Ü

Doggy Alex & Darth Vader Halen
We did our neighborhood trick-or-treat on Saturday night. Grandma & Grandpa Simkins came down to walk around with us. We only went around the block but still got tons of candy. Alex figured out that he really liked this knocking on doors and people handing him candy. There were a couple houses that he ran into as soon as they opened the door and we had to ask them to please let the dog back out. Ü There were also a few houses that had real dogs and those were the ones that Halen wouldn't go to. Even if we walked up with him he didn't want anything to do with it so Alex ended up with a few extra pieces of candy.

Their first stop
We carved pumpkins for FHE the Monday before Halloween but I didn't get any pics of the actual carving. The boys weren't really too into it and I'm not a big fan myself so Randy did most (all) the work. Halen designed the face of the one on the right and Randy did the "Y" on the left. They both turned out good...thanks dad!
So now we're set with candy for the rest of the year...maybe even until next Halloween. Ü
